Oracle Field Service – OCI subscriptions and consulting for GCABA – ASI: evolution to Oracle Fusion to enable AI and new capabilities

GCABA – ASI works with ABTIO on Oracle Field Service and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) subscriptions and consulting with a plan to evolve to Oracle Fusion Field Service. The approach prioritizes control by environment, OCI best practices, and a foundation ready to integrate automation and AI capabilities from the Oracle ecosystem, when required.

Client

The Government of the City of Buenos Aires (GCABA), through the Information Systems Agency (ASI) and its General Services Coordination, which plays a key role in the technological support of processes and platforms that impact the provision of large-scale services within the City.

Challenge

Sustain and evolve field service operations with a cloud platform that enables:

  • Continuity of operations (subscriptions + consultative support).
  • Technological evolution towards the new Oracle Fusion (Oracle Fusion Field Service / FFS).
  • Preparation to adopt AI and automations embedded in the Fusion ecosystem (predictive, generative, and agents), aligned with frequent releases.
  • Integration with the agency’s existing systems.

Solution

In July 2025, GCABA selected ABTIO for subscriptions and consulting on:

  • Oracle Field Service (subscription and professional services).
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) (subscription by credits).
  • Specialized consulting to support evolution, configuration, and adoption of best practices.

As part of the evolution, ABTIO is supporting the work plan for the transition to Oracle Fusion Field Service, focusing on:

  • Defining an operational base on OCI aligned with best practices (governance, security, and integration).
  • Organizing the transition in stages (DEV/PRD) to minimize risk and ensure traceability.
  • Preparing the environment to incorporate Fusion stack capabilities (including embedded AI) when prioritized by the agency.

Impact

Achieved and expected value (no publishable metrics yet):

  • Clear roadmap for evolving to Oracle Fusion (FFS), with phased control (DEV/PRD).
  • Enabling foundation for AI: remaining in the Fusion ecosystem makes it easier to incorporate AI capabilities (predictive/generative and agents) where they add operational value, without leaving the application environment.
  • Risk reduction by prioritizing documentation, validations, and orderly transition.
  • Better traceability of progress (Q&A by stage + project management).

Evolution in the latest period

Milestones already achieved:

  • Initial organization of the project.
  • Planning of the migration/evolution to Fusion.
  • Upcoming milestones (roadmap by stages, without exposing sensitive information):
  • Review of scope and enabling access to environments (DEV/PRD).
  • Evaluation of configuration and survey/documentation of customizations.
  • Configuration and progressive migration of parameters and components (including plugins) in the development environment.
  • Integration with internal systems.
  • Stage-by-stage testing and validation.
  • Transition to production, Go-Live, and post-production support.
  • Final documentation and control/monitoring (stage-by-stage Q&A + PM).
